Elementary Knocks Their Concert Out of The Water

by Trina Wetzel

Tuesday, May 10, the elementary school held their spring concert, with a patriotic theme, at the high school gymnasium.

Mrs. Amy Barnhill, choir director, states, “I think they did a phenomenal job, I was very proud of all the soloists. As well as the fourth graders did very well on their recorders, and looked like they were having a lot of fun.”

To kick it off, the fourth graders played recorders and sang a song. The third, fifth, and six grades all had soloists.

The kindergarten put on a show of three songs. Those songs went by the names of “This is My Flag,” “March of the Wee Americans,” and “Yankee Doodle.”

Moving on to first grade, they sang “This Land is Your Land” and “Thankful for the U.S.A.”

Next, the second grade had two songs by the names of “Our Heroes Will Live On” and “I Love My Country.”

“We Celebrate America” and “MacNamara’s Band” were performed by the third graders. Soloists in the first song were Ella Becker, Kennedy Konert, Harlie Painter, Bristol Prince, Tehya Pasewalk, Maci Kraft, Eva Pfeil, and Emery Milne.

In fourth grade, the recorder song was “Frodo’s BAG,” while after that they sang “All American Me and You.”

With a total of two songs was the fifth grade. They performed “American Tears,” which featured soloists Brooke Wortman, Caybri Monroe, Lydia Cone, Sawyer Konert, and Ella Bauermeister, as well as singing “Fifty Nifty United States.”

The sixth graders sang “Americans We,” and “There’s a Hole in the Bucket,” which had speakers Quintin Flesner, Kolton Wragge, and Jordan Schwede.

This was the last concert of the year for the elementary school.
