New Students at Pierce High School
New Student Profile: Carter Jensen

Carter Jensen joined the junior class at Pierce High School at the start of this year. He came from Winside, Nebraska. Carter’s parents are Josh and Emily Jensen, and his siblings are Colton Jensen, Colbey Jensen, and Lainey Jensen. Their family also consists of three dogs and four cats.
Carter transferred to Pierce because he sees better opportunities for him here. He said his first week at Pierce has been fun, and his favorite class so far is English 11. This year, Carter will be participating in cross country, wrestling, and FFA. Along with those, Carter also likes to ride horses, go hunting, and go fishing.
New Student Profile: Colbey Jensen

Colbey Jensen joined PHS student body as an 8th grader this year. Colbey transferred from Winside Public Schools to take advantage of the opportunities offered by Pierce High.
Colbey's parents’ names are Josh and Emily Jensen. He also has three siblings: Colton (19), Carter (16), and Lainey (10). Colbey has three dogs for pets.
In his short time at PHS so far, his favorite class has been math. Colbey plans to be involved in football, wrestling, and track. “It was great, met a lot of great people,” said Colbey talking about his first week at Pierce High School.
Colbey’s hobbies and interests consist of farming, hunting, fishing, and demolition derbies.
New Student Profile: Tim Windheuser

Tim Windheuser joined the Bluejays at the start of the school year. He is a senior exchange student at Pierce High school and moved from Wassenberg, Germany. His parents are Daniela and Drik Windheuser, and his siblings include two sisters named Tessa and Tabea, and one brother named Tristan. The Windheuser family also includes one dog named Merlin and two pigs named Frida and Bella. Tim is currently staying with his host family, Greg and Shelly Garret.
Tim has come to Pierce as a foreign exchange student to learn better English, make new contact, and learn more about America. He said his first week at Pierce High School was fun but very different from Germany because of the periods, classes, and sports. Tim’s favorite class so far at PHS is Real World Seminar because he enjoys the teacher and the students are nice.
To engage in the experience at PHS, Tim is on the football team and also plans to be a part of the basketball team. Some of his hobbies include studying football, staying with family, and watch T.V. with his father.
New Student Profile: Luis Giovani Herrera Apodaca

Luis Giovani Herrera Apodaca became a member of the Pierce High Bluejay student body at the start of the school year. He is a 7th grader at Pierce High School and moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico. His parents are Yesenia Apodaca and Ricardo Sierra, and he also has one brother named Janick. His family also includes one dog named Max and one cat named Zazu.
Luis’s favorite class so far is English. Luis said he likes it here at Pierce because it is a little town and he likes the school. Some of his hobbies include playing video games, and playing soccer.
