PHS Celebrates Annual FCCLA Week
by Rose Graham
The Pierce FCCLA chapter held their annual FCCLA week from February 12-15.
The week started off with a dress up day. Monday was pajama day, Tuesday was squad day, Wednesday was stop light day, and Thursday was class war. Throughout the week, the FCCLA members worked hard on preparing candy grams to hand out to students and staff at the high school and elementary on Valentine’s Day.
FCCLA week is meant to focus on the many aspects of being a good family and community leader, as FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA’s focuses are family and consumer sciences education, student education, career and technical education, and service learning.
“I think that overall, the week was successful,” said FCCLA sponsor Angie Brodersen. “We had a number of students who participated in the dress up days and some FCCLA members that showed true leadership skills and completed a large amount of candy grams in a minimal amount of time.”
