Pierce High Prepares to Light Up Homecoming Week with Midnight in Miami

Pierce High’s homecoming week is just around the corner, and the students and teachers are preparing for a full week of school spirit, dress-up days, and fun activities. This year's homecoming theme, Midnight In Miami, will bring fun, bright colors, and Miami vibes all throughout the school.
Starting off the week of dress-up days will start on Monday with PJ day. Also on Monday, the car bash is taking place, as well as a bonfire for the student body to kick off the homecoming week.
Tuesday is Dress for the Wrong Occasion, where students show up dressed for anything but school.
Wednesday, students are encouraged to dress up in their neon class colors for Miami lights. Seventh and eighth graders wear orange; Ninth graders wear purple; 10th grade students wear green; 11th graders wear blue; seniors wear pink; and staff members wear yellow.
On Thursday, it will be Generation day, with students dressing up as different age groups. Junior high dress as babies, freshmen dress as toddlers, sophomores dress as teens, juniors dress as adults, seniors dress as senior citizens, and finally staff members dress as ghosts.
To finish off the week, Friday is Glow Blue day, where all students and staff are highly encouraged to show up to school wearing blue to show off their Bluejay pride.
Friday, after the school day ends, there will be a parade that goes through town with all of the fall activities getting their own float. These floats include one for the football players, volleyball, softball, cheer, one act, FCCLA, etc. The floats will be led by the Pierce High marching band.
Next up is the mini pep rally, which will be held at the elementary school on Friday, October 9.
Here, all the little kids will learn about all of the activities and sports they may want to participate in when they get older. Coaches will talk about their students and all of their accomplishments throughout the year. The band and cheerleaders will perform, and then students will have the opportunity to get signatures and talk to their favorite Pierce High athletes, actors, club representatives, and more.
The next activity is the pep rally that will be held at the high school. Here, the king and queen candidates will be called down to take part in fun and entertaining activities, as well as the rest of the senior class.
The queen candidates this year are Payton Montgomery, Haley Scholting, Nora Herian, and Mya Froehlich. The king candidates are Ethan Nordby, Kendall Shada, Gavin Lubischer, and Cole DeBoer.
As on any regular fall Friday night, there will be a varsity football game at the high school against the O’Neill. The game starts at 7, and everyone is welcome to come. In addition, following the game, the king and queen will be announced. All of the candidates will walk down the track while all of the activities that they have participated in and accomplishments are read. Make sure to stick around after the game to see who wins the king and queen homecoming royalty of 2027.
Finally, on Saturday, October 10, the homecoming dance will be held at the auditorium for 9-12 grade students. Doors will open, and the dance will begin at 8 and end at 11. Tickets will be $5 and will be available for purchase from girls letterclub, boys letterclub, and cheerleaders.
