Golf Places 5th at West Holt

The Pierce Bluejays competed in the West Holt golf meet on September 3, and they placed fifth as a team with a score of 446.
“I think that the team struck the ball well and at times battled well on a tough course,” head coach Jason Freudenburg says.
Junior Camassia White medaled for 9th place with a score of 101. Senior Brailey Jensen shot a 110 and placed 20th, while Addison Frye shot a 125 and placed 30th. Juniors Brooke Podany and Jaelyn Jensen placed 19th with a 110, and 41st with a 140, respectively.
Senior Brailey Jensen expresses that as a team, “We can work on chipping and putting.”
During these earlier meets, Freudenburg is preparing the team to have the resilience needed to compete well until the end of the year.
“Every stroke counts when it gets to district time,” he says. He is proud of his team as he knows “The girls will work hard and be able to do that well at the end of the year.”
Come support the golfers as they take the course again on September 12 for the Pierce tournament starting at 9 a.m.
Pierce Golfers First Home Dual

The girls golf team swung into their first home dual against the O'Neill Eagles on Monday, August 31.
The girls who competed were seniors Brailey Jensen and Addison Frye, juniors Camassia White, Alivia Marks, Brooke Podany, Jaelyn Jensen, and sophomores Teigan Warneke and Callan Vogeler.
Shooting the best score of the day was White with a 44 and coming in second being one point short of White was B. Jensen with a 45. Frye shot a 51, Warneke shot a 52, Podany shot a 53, J. Jensen shot a 57, Marks a 57, and Vogeler a 73.
“I golfed pretty decently and showed some improvement,” White states. “I could have done a lot better, but I am still very pleased with my score. As a team I think we could work on our putting because putting can make a big difference in our scores.”
