Pierce Dominates at the Fr/So Track Meet

The Pierce girls track team grabbed a number of medals at the Pierce freshmen/sophomore meet on Tuesday, April 28.
To start, Aislyn Moeller placed first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.35 seconds. Moeller also ran in the 400 meter dash placing first with a time of 1:00:39, breaking the meet record.
“I think I did really well at the meet, especially running the 100 for the 1st time. For this meet, I did pretty well overall,” sophomore Moeller said.
In the 1600, Natalie Endorf placed fourth with a time of 6:31.
“For my pre-race warm-up, I eat fruit snacks, then I do a warm-up lap and the stretches that (athletic trainer) Mr. Hervert gives us. Then I put my spikes on when they say the first call for the race,” sophomore Natalie Endorf said.
Jordyn Schwede placed third in shot put with a throw of 32-02, her teammate Athena Bretschneider threw 29-09, placing fifth. Also throwing the shot put was Kaelyn Halsey, throwing a distance of 29-03 putting her in sixth place.
In discus, Brooke Podany placed first with a throw of 101-02, and Halsey was close behind with a throw of 100-02, placing second.
Competing in pole vault, Jada Johnson placed fourth clearing 7-06.

Pierce Freshman/Sophomore Track Fights On

The Pierce freshmen and sophomores competed in the track meet on Tuesday, April 28, and the boys brought home nine medals.
“I think this was a good learning experience for most of the people here who haven’t competed a lot, and I think that overall we could be a really good group if we could work at it,” Brayden Wolken said.
Lucas Weber placed fourth in the 400-meter dash, and got a time of 57.05.
In the 800-meter race, Maxwell Weber ran a time of 2:14.06 and got second place, Konnar Jones also ran the 800 and placed fourth with a time of 2:16.75.
Parker Gaes ran a 44.59 in the 300-meter hurdles and placed first, and Caycen Ernst placed fifth with a time of 48.17.
The 4x400 team placed third with a time of 3:54.69, the team consisted of Weber, Gaes, Ethan Clausen, and Jones.
In the discus Keaton Olson placed third with a throw of 104-08.
Gaes jumped 6-00 in high jump and got first place.
In pole volt, William Korth jumped 10-06.00, placing third
“I think I did good and competed with good people, that was why it was so competitive to jump over the last height,” Korth said.
The boys team has their final regular season meet at Norfolk Catholic High School, on Thursday, May 7. Be there and cheer the boys on.
