Pierce Track Shines at Norfolk Classic

The Pierce track team made a strong showing at the Norfolk Classic track meet on April 30, with athletes competing across a wide range of events and turning in impressive performances.
For girls, qualifiers included Aislyn Moeller in the 400 and 200, Raleigh Pfeiffer in shot put, Jessa Kraft in discus, Kylie Dvorak, who threw shot put and discus, and Nora Herian in long jump.
For boys, Ryder Theisen in the long and triple jump, along with the 110 and 300 hurdles, Gavin Lubischer in the 200 and long jump, Brenden Bolling in the 800 meter run, Kendall Shada qualified for the 1600 and 3200, Ethan Nordby in shot put, Keaton Frazier in discus, Parker Gaes in high jump.
“I focus on getting the race done and staying on time for each of my 200 spilts. My goal for the rest of the season is winning state,” Bolling said.
All seven athletes who participated in the meet placed.
Moeller placed second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.48 seconds.
“Something that was going through my mind is how I need to compete to the best of my ability, and not worry about the place I get, but try to PR. I want to work on finishing stronger so that I can get my time under a minute and make it to state,” Moeller said.
Dvorak got eighth in shot put with a throw of 36-07 and fifth in discus with a throw of 127-09.
Kraft got fourth in discus with a throw of 128-07.
Bolling placed first in the 800 with a time of 1:57.45.
Shada placed third in the 3200 with a time of 10:16.43.
Theisen ran a 41.61 in the 300 hurdles and got eighth. He also got third in triple jump with a jump of 43-11.00.
Lubischer won the long jump with a jump of 21-07.50.
With multiple podium finishes and every competitor earning a place, the team proved their depth and competitiveness against strong competition.
