Pierce High Welcomes New Staff Member: Jonathon Dixon
By Ryder Theisen
Pierce High is excited to welcome new staff member Jonathon Dixon as the industrial tech teacher.
Dixon grew up in Craig. He comes from a large family and has five siblings, including three brothers and one sister. He went to Wayne State College for all four years and is majoring in Skilled and Technical Sciences (STS) education.
“Oh, the students, they're great. They're actually teaching me as much as I'm teaching them. They're doing a great job, and I'm trying to keep up with them,” he said when asked what he likes most about working at Pierce so far.
Some things Dixon likes to do in his free time is to go ice fishing in South Dakota. Another interest of his is sports; mainly football, but wrestling is a close second.
If a coaching opportunity arises, Dixon says, “I'm looking more towards middle school coaching. I probably want to coach football, and I was an offensive and defensive lineman, so I'd probably like to help out in that area.”
Overall, Dixon is looking forward to teaching here.
“I just can't wait to see, especially in my small engines class, how well the students take what they've learned and apply it by bringing stuff in,” he says.
