Many Bluejays Make All-State Music
By Zane Rae
Pierce High School is proud to celebrate its talented musicians who have earned spots in this year’s All-State Music ensembles.
Avery Wragge (clarinet), Aubrie Zimmerman (clarinet), and Payton Ebmeier (trumpet) will represent Pierce in the All-State band, with Keaton Vavra (tuba) named as an alternate. Carter Sindt (french horn) will show off his skills in the All-State orchestra, and Spencer Sindt (trombone) will groove with the All-State jazz band.
“It is amazing to get the opportunity to get to participate in this band for the second time. It really is a fun experience that I would recommend to anyone on the fence about trying out next year,” Ebmeier said.
These students have practiced tirelessly, and their dedication has paid off. Joining the best young musicians from across the state, they’ll get the chance to perform, learn, and shine on a bigger stage. Congratulations to all.
“It was exciting to see that I was an alternate, especially since this is the first time I am trying out for it, but I am stressed that I won’t be able to go if one of the other tuba players isn’t able to make it,” stated Vavra.
All-State performances will be on Saturday, November 22, with jazz band performing at 4:30 p.m. at the Lied Center for Performing Arts and the band and orchestra concert at 7:30 p.m.
