The Pierce Bluejays Dominate The Schuyler Warriors at Home to Win

By Skyler Stern

The Pierce Bluejays defeated the Schuyler Warriors with a score of 61-20 on Friday at home in the final regular season game.

“I am ready for the playoffs. We are feeling pretty confident that we are going to make a run and tear it up in the playoffs,” Cameron Kuehler, a senior, states.

The Bluejays came out hot in the first quarter, scoring four touchdowns while allowing no points for the Warriors. By halftime, the Bluejays had added another touchdown before the half, making the score 35-0.

The momentum continued going into the second half as the Bluejays scored another touchdown to end the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Bluejays scored three more touchdowns, but only made one out of the three PATs (point after touchdown).

The Warriors were able to find some success in the fourth quarter, scoring three touchdowns. They went for 2-point conversions after each, succeeding once and falling short on the other two attempts.

Offensively for the Bluejays, Bryce Lindstrom led the team in rushing yards with 85 total yards. Trailing behind him were Jackson Fisher with 54 and Colter Anderson with 47. In receiving yards, Lucas Weber and Keaton Frazier both had 30 yards.

As for defense, Ethan Claussen had five tackles with one TFL (tackle for loss). Behind him was Hayden Bauer with four tackles and two TFLs. Gavin Lubischer also had a pick-six scoring for the Bluejays.

Jax Bauer comments on how he feels knowing he might have played his last home game of the season. “I feel sad knowing that it was my last, but I'm happy at the same time because it happened.”

The Bluejays will play the Sidney Raiders on Halloween, making the trek all the way down to their home field.
