SKA Hosts Annual Trunk or Treat

By Brianna Rundell

Once again, Pierce High’s Secret Kindness Agents (SKA) put together a trunk or treat event at the high school.

Over 30 trunks participated, including a state patrol car, a tractor, and a motorcycle group called “Guardians of the Children.”

“My favorite part of the event was to see all of the cute little kids with smiles on their faces, even though it was freezing cold out, I believe they still enjoyed it. Before everyone got there, I was a little worried about how everyone was going to park, but we sorted everyone very well. After it was over, I was glad it was over. We put so much time and effort into this that it was a relief when it was over. In the end, I’m so happy we did this,” SKA President Alanna McKeown said.

Attendees arrived at 9 a.m. to start setting up their trunks while SKA members set up games and prepared a snack table. The event started at 11 in the high school parking lot, where guests checked in at the main table, received a trick-or-treat bag, and then weaved through all the decorated trunks.

“Besides the misty, dreary weather, the trunk or treat was successful; we had around 200 kids show up and 38 trunks,” SKA advisor Amy Specht commented.

SKA members ran carnival-like games, set up a face paint stand, and had a small concession stand with hot dogs, popcorn, and cotton candy.

SKA’s next event will be a parents night out at the Pierce Elementary School on November 21.
