Seniors Apply to College

By Brynn Schwartz

It is that time again, senior college application season. On October 9 and 10, Pierce High seniors of 2026 took time to Apply to College with the help of guidance counselor Danielle Goetsch and guidance assistant Rachel Abler.

“Applying for college was stressful just because of all the differentiations between each application. I’m most excited to experience college and the change,” senior Elizabeth Furstenau said.

Each senior was invited to come in during their allotted timeslot to talk about future planning.

“I enjoy working with the seniors on apply college because it just provides the additional support to complete pretty complex applications as they have become more in depth; it's an opportunity for all seniors to apply to at least one college and sometimes they apply to multiple colleges, sometimes they apply up to 10 colleges so it's just a really good opportunity for them to get the support they need,” Goetsch said.

Seniors also complete an exit form after they apply. “That exit form provides information about the colleges that they have applied to. So it gives us the data, colleges that they're interested in, but also allows us to send transcripts to those colleges,” Goetsch said.

The seniors are waiting for the day to hear about their acceptance to their colleges.
