Jays Take Fifth At West Holt

The girls golf team took fifth place with a combined score of 460 in the West Holt golf meet on September 4.
“Overall as a team, they have gotten better at striking the ball since the beginning of the year,” head coach Jason Freudenburg says. “Overall, the girls are playing better and competing.”
Individually, Rylee Altwine medaled, finishing in second place with a score of 92. Addison Frye shot a 117. Camassia White ended up with a 122. Brooke Podany shot a 129, and coming in close behind her with a 133 was Brailey Jensen.
“Going forward into next week, I'm really going to focus on putting. Putting is an essential part of finishing holes with a low score,” Frye states.
The next meet for the Jays is at home and will be the Pierce Invite on September 13.
Girls Golf Sweeps O’Neill

The girls golf team went to O’Neill Golf Club on September 2, competing in a competitive 9-hole dual, and the Bluejays came out with the victory.
As a team, Pierce won 231 to 244 against the Eagles.
For the individual scoring for Pierce, Rylee Altwine took first place with a 46, Camassia White placed fourth with a 56, and Brooke Podany finished seventh with a 74. In eighth was Brailey Jensen, shooting a 66, and rounding out the top 10 was Addison Frye with a 69.
On the junior varsity side were Jaylen Jensen, shooting a 77, and Alyvia Marks, shooting an 81.
“I thought we struck the ball well, but need to continue to get better at scoring when the opportunities are there. We will continue to get better every time we are out on the course,” coach Jason Freudenburg said.
The next golf meet is the Pierce Invitational on Saturday, September 13.
