The Boys Golf Team Takes FairPlay
By Rylee Altwine
Traveling to Norfolk on Thursday, May 15, the varsity golf team wrapped up their last regular season tournaments, shooting a team score of 366.
Starting off, senior Cooper Wachholtz scored an 83. Not far behind Wachholtz was junior Cameron Kuehler, who carded a 91. Junior Tyler Schulz shot a 94. Next down the line was senior Payton Cederburg with a 98. Lastly, sophomore Noah Fuerhoff-Gubbels with a score of 101.
"It was a good opportunity to compete at Fair Play. The conditions were probably very similar to what we will see next week. We definitely know what areas need to be improved. On a very positive note, though we weren't happy with this score today, it would've been very good for us just a few weeks ago. That's a testament to how far we've come this year," head coach Zachary Weber states.
“Even with the weather, I thought we had good performances. It was nice being able to play at Fairplay before districts,” junior Cameron Kuehler states.
The boys will take on Fairplay Golf Course on Monday, May 19, for districts and to hopefully punch a ticket to state at Grand Island on Wednesday, May 22.
