Pierce High FCCLA Extraordinary Family BanquetÂ
By Tiffany Chaney
The Pierce High FCCLA chapter held their yearly banquet on April 28.
The banquet started by the parents and students joining in on the opening ceremony where the chapter members stated the FCCLA creed. After the chapter stated the creed, they held a potluck and every student in the chapter had to bring a food item they were assigned by their grade.
While everyone was eating, the advisor Mrs. Angie Brodersen put on a slide show of the FCCLA year in review. The slide show also included profiles on the seniors in FCCLA.
When that was over the old officers lit the candles for the starting of getting new officers. They stated the creed and what each of the candles represented.
“Throughout this year our officer team worked well together and each member worked well together, and that, I think, positively impacted how our year went,” Brodersen stated.
The former officers were Shaylee Gardner, who was president, her vice president was Alyssa Kuper, the secretary was Ann Reeker, the vice president of membership was Sydney Kuper, the vice president of social programs was Mya Johnson, and the vice president of community service was Jada Johnson.
Then the new officers went up and lit the candles again and repeated the creed and their duties as new officers for the Pierce High FCCLA chapter.
The new officers are A. Kuper as president, S. Kuper as vice president, J. Johnson as secretary Darcy Watts as the public relations position. The vice president of community service and power of one is Kate Anderson, and the competitive events coordinator is Collin Wessendorf.
“I hope it goes smoothly, and I think the officer team for next year will be good; it will help people,“ A. Kuper, the new elected president for the FCCLA chapter stated.
When the new officers were initiated they did the closing ceremony, which everyone that was at the banquet had to say.
