Dress Up According to the Theme With the Student Section
By Alanna McKeown
This school year Pierce High wants to have a big student section at all the games.
Senior Ava Knox states, “I, along with a bunch of other senior girls, chose the themes by what we thought would be fun: They aren't the usual, boring themes that require you to wear a color, but fun themes that you actually get to be creative with and go all out. I think it's important for people to show up and support because it really does make a difference. Especially when people cheer, it makes the atmosphere very competitive and fun.”
Join in on the themes this year starting with dress as the best ESPN or college recruiter for a volleyball game against Laurel-Concord-Coleridge, on October 1.
For Pierce High’s homecoming football game the theme is white out or get one of the white football player jerseys, on October 11.
Then following that game, on Tuesday, October 15, is the volleyball team’s pink out game against Guardian Angels Cedar Catholic. So dress in as much pink as possible.
The volleyball game on October 17 is against Elkhorn Valley and the theme is Halloween costumes, so whip out a favorite halloween costume and head to the game.
“My favorite theme is black out,” former fan of the week Kreighton Simpson states. “I think it's important to go to games because you're supporting the team and hyping up the student section to help the team win. If the student section isn't in the game then the players aren't gonna be in the game. Being at the games also shows the team that we are gonna be there for them whether they win or lose.”
Don’t forget to join the Bluejays at all their home games.
