Changes in Coaching for Boys Basketball
By Savannah Beutler
Let’s meet the new/old boys basketball coaches at Pierce High School!
Former head coach Michael Emory has stepped down from the lead position as the boys basketball coach, giving way to former assistant coach, Alex Thramer to take the head position.
First off, the new varsity head coach is Thramer and following him is former head coach, Michael Emory as the assistant coach.
“I feel like our new coaches will be great. They have a lot of energy and are ready to make us work as hard as we can,” states senior Deon Watts.
Coaching the freshmen is new teacher and coach Kaleb Anderson.
“I’m most excited for players to step up into new roles because we are losing four starters and a lot of our senior class from last year,” says coach Thramer. “My personal goals for the team are to just come in every single day and work hard, also having a great attitude and effort in practice and games.”
Tune in for the boys basketball season, which starts on November 30. The first home game for the Bluejays will be Friday, December 8, when Pierce hosts Boone Central.
