Students Test for their Military Career
By Sara Thomsen
On Wednesday, October 25, the junior class went into the multi-purpose room to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
According to the GoArmy website, “The ASVAB is a standardized test that reveals areas of strength and ability in science, math, and language. Taking the test is one of the first steps before you enlist. Once it's over, you'll get to find a job that matches your strengths. You'll need to take the ASVAB test to enlist.”
Guidance counselor Danellie Goetsch comments, “Students take the ASVAB to measure their aptitudes, also known as ability. This test identifies abilities so as to guide students' post-secondary options and aspirations.”
“It was kinda easy, but difficult at the same time,” remarks junior Nevaeh Koeppe. “There were difficult portions of it, but at the same time it was helpful to know what fields you would be good at and what opportunities you would have in the future.”
The juniors will have to wait about two to three weeks to get their test results back.
