Sophomores Travel to Wildcat Country for Career Day
By Brody Knox
Pierce High School's very own sophomore class traveled to Wayne State College for career day on October 17. Sophomore career day gives the students an opportunity to look deeper into the career that they are interested in.
“It was fun because I knew a lot of the college students who were there and got to make new friends. Criminal justice was my favorite part because the teacher made us all do push ups and get a workout in,” states Jared Northcutt who is interested in being in the FBI.
Starting at 9 a.m., the students were sent off to their first sessions of the day. Digging deeper into student interests, the sophomore class made it closer to graduating high school. The day ended at 2 p.m., and the sophomores made their way back to Pierce.
Danielle Goetsch, Pierce guidance counselor, states, “I always enjoy those days because it gives students perspective on opportunities and a perspective about who they are in the framework of our society.”
