Pierce High Takes in a New Football Coach
By Lauren Ueding
Pierce High takes in new football coach, Mr. Darin Suckstorf, after former head coach, Mr. Mark Brahmer, announced that the 2022 season was his final season of coaching Pierce High football.
“What inspired me to become a coach was all of my coaches from high school and college and my family,” says Suckstorf in response to what inspired him to become a coach.
Suckstorf says he likes Pierce High. He says that it has been awesome, and that Pierce High has great kids and great coaches who work hard.
“I’m being careful because Pierce High has so many good traditions, so I don’t want to come in here and change traditions. I’m going to see how the season goes and then we’ll evaluate as the year goes and see at the end of the year,” replies Suckstorf after being asked what new traditions he wants to start.
When not busy coaching, Suckstorf enjoys hunting and football.
The Bluejays will be in action for the opening game of the season on Friday, August 25, at Wahoo. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
