Comeback Season: Fashion Trends Edition
By Skylar Scholting
As the years go by, there seem to be a number of trends that go in and out of style.
Compared to the year 1990, there are many similar fashion trends that have made a comeback. These trends include oversized tops, different styles of jeans, biker shorts, joggers, and combat boots, just to name a few.
Although the PHS dress code does not allow for some of these clothes, many of the students around Pierce can be seen sporting some of these styles outside of school. For example, roughly 80% of the students in our school own joggers. Another popular trend at PHS is Birkenstock sandals, which about 48%. Mrs. Crystal Bauermeister said, “I love that old stuff is coming back. For instance, most of my birks that are older than students in this building are now fashionable. I’m not trendy, I know that, but my old stuff is trendy.”
Oversized shirts are another trend making a reappearance. Roughly 64% of students at Pierce own them.
When asked about her opinion on the trends coming back, senior Raegan Theisen said, “I’m very happy about them coming back because I like those styles and now I can wear them. I feel like the older generation likes seeing those [styles] coming back.”
