Pierce Public Schools Host Donuts with Dudes
By Claudia Riggert
Pierce Elementary students brought their favorite dudes to school on the morning of November 9, as the elementary put on the annual event Donuts with Dudes.
At Donuts with Dudes, students are allowed to bring their dads, grandparents, step-dads, older brothers, uncles, etc. to school in the morning for free donuts and drinks. After getting their donuts, the students are allowed to show their dudes their classrooms and all the fun things that they are learning at school.
A father who attended the event, Les Painter comments saying, “I’d first like to thank the Pierce Public Schools for putting this event on. I love watching the dads interact with their sons and daughters at school. It’s always fun to see how your kids will answer the questions about dad, grandpa, or uncle. Who doesn’t like donuts!”
This event went on from 7:00-7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 9. This year Donuts with Dudes was a success with 517 students and adults signing up.
Pierce Public Elementary Principal Trent Suehl claims, “The best part of Donuts with Dudes is seeing how happy the students are to have their dudes with them and just the happy atmosphere that it creates. We love getting family and community members in our building and allowing them to spend time here with the students.”
In the spring, the important females in the lives of elementary students will be invited to Donuts with Dames.
