Pierce Invite Champions

The boys golf team competed at their own course on Saturday, May 7, at the Pierce Invite.The meet was postponed from the previous week.

Altogether, the team won gold scoring 364 points, with Abram Scholting and Travis Emory placing first and second, respectively. Scholting shot an 87 and Emory an 88. Also golfing for the Bluejays were Jacksen Wachholtz, Nikolas Harvey, Dalton Svoboda, Cooper Wachholtz, Kelton Anderson, Matthew Steffen, Camden Jansen, Landon Oestreich, and Kreighton Simpson. 

J. Wachholtz placed eighth with a score of 94. Just behind him in ninth was Harvey, who also shot a 94. Svoboda was tenth, shooting a 95. Also, C. Wachholtz shot a 100, Anderson a 103, Steffen a 104, Jansen a 108, Oestreich a 141, and Simpson a 144.

Scholting stated, “I thought we played really well, I think a lot of us are starting to feel pretty comfortable with our swing, and I think we just continue to work on our game and work towards placing at districts.” 

Head Coach Rick Adams added to that, commenting, “I felt we performed as we should have. At this point we are trying to peak for districts.” 

Next up for the boy golfers is districts, which will be held Tuesday, May 17, at the Wayne Country Club.
