Bluejay Tracksters Take on Boone Central

On Tuesday, April 12, the Pierce track team faced strong windy and dirt blowing conditions at Boone Central, and the Pierce girls team placed first.

To start off in the 200-meter dash Bethany Kaup placed fourth with a time of 28.80.

In the 400-meter dash Hadleigh Collison placed second with a time of 1:05.10. Also in the 400-meter dash, taking third place, Morgan Moeller ran a time of 1:05.11. Taking fifth place, Zoey Ebmeier ran a time of 1:10.30.

In the 800, Callie Arnold ran a time of 2:46.20 to get second place while Payten Simmons placed third with a time of 2:46.70.

In the 1600 Alexus Sindelar placed first with a time of 5:57.70, while teammate Arnold placed second with a time of 6:00.40.

Sindelar also ran the 3200-meter run and ran a time of 12:35.70 to place first.

Moving onto the 100-meter hurdles, Gina Wragge placed fifth with a time of 18.20. 

In field events, in high jump Claudia Riggert placed third with a jump of 4-08.00, and jumping 4-06.00 was Taylor Miller, who, in a three-way tie, finished eighth and scored team points.

In pole vault, Collison placed fifth with a vault of 7-06, and Ciara Garcia placed sixth with a vault of 7-06.

Wragge finished long jump, placing third with a jump of 16-00.00, and Sierra Sonnenfelt, scoring team points, finished eighth with a jump of 15-01.50.

Wragge also placed third in the triple jump with a jump of 34-01.50.

Moving onto shot put, the Pierce girls finished 1, 2, 3 with Elly Piper placing first with a throw of 41-00.25, Jozy Piper ending second with a throw distance of 39-06.50, and Makinzie Parsons throwing 35-08.00 to get third place.

E. Piper also threw the discus to get first place with a throw of 128-09, and J. Piper also competed in discus to get second place with a throw of 125-10.

Finally in the relay races, the 4x100-meter team of Skylar Scholting, Kaup, Moeller, and Abby Watts ran a time of 56.60 to claim fifth place.

In the 4x400 relay, Sindelar, Simmons, Arnold, and Moeller ran 4:32.30 to nab first place.

Sindelar, Simmons, Arnold, and Moeller also ran in the 4x800 to get first place with a time of 10:43.40.

For the boys side of the meet, Pierce finished in fourth place. 

In the boys 100-meter dash, Evan Willits placed fourth with a time of 11.10.

In the 200-meter dash, placing fifth, Coleton Cooper ran a time of 23.80, and Keenan Valverde placed sixth with a time of 23.90.

Cooper also ran the 400-meter dash in 53.91 to get fifth place, while teammate Kaden Johnson ran a time of 54.10 to get sixth place.

Moving onto the 800-meter run, Chris Efta ran a time of 2:16 to place sixth.

In the 3200-meter run Brock Bolling placed second with a time of 11.22.10.

In the 110-meter hurdles Benjamin Brahmer finished second with a time of 15.10. Brahmer also ran the 300 hurdles and got third place with a time of 44.10. 

For the field events, in pole vault Isaiah Adams placed third with a vault of 11-06. 

Placing eighth and scoring a team points in high jump was Isaiah Yarde, with a jump of 5-06.

Moving on to long jump, Gavin Sullivan placed second with a jump of 21-11.75 and in triple jump Sulivan placed first with a jump of 43-10.50.

Brahmer also placed sixth in shot put with a distance of 43-04.75 and Matthew Christensen finished eighth, scoring a team point, with a throw of 43-03.25. 

In discus, Brahmer ended in second place with a throw of 138-08, and Carter Meier placed sixth with a throw of 125-11.

Finally, moving onto the relays, in the 4x100, Johnson, Valverde, Cooper, and Willits placed third with a time of 45.82.

In the 4x400, with a time of 3:48.30, Keaton Weeder, Cooper, Johnson, and Willits placed fifth.

Finally, in the 4x800, C. Efta, Nickolas Efta, Alexander Meier, and Elijah Streff placed fourth with a time of 9:54.80. 

The next meet for the Bluejays will be on Thursday, April 21, in Pierce starting at 1:00.
