A Look Back in Time with Tracy Sporleder

by Addison Sporleder

Let’s take a trip back to 1996 when Tracy (Wragge) Sporleder was a senior at Pierce High! Throughout her four years in high school, Tracy was involved in band, basketball, volleyball, track, girls letter club, and was a peer tutor.

Principal Mark Brahmer, who was then a social science teacher, stated, “Tracy was a good student, was highly involved, and was a positive leader and hard worker.”

Her favorite time in high school was traveling to football games with friends her junior and senior year. If she could change anything back in high school, she would have been more outgoing. When asked what made her most proud about PHS, she replied, “We had a good band program and that tradition continues today.”

During her high school years, she planned on majoring in nursing until she got to college. She decided to pursue elementary education. In her post secondary education, she graduated with an Associate of Arts degree from Northeast Community College, a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Wayne State College, and an Early Childhood endorsement and Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College.

Moving forward 25 years later, Tracy lives in her hometown with her husband Russell, and two kids, Jayden (19) and Addison (17).

Tracy is employed at Northeast Community College as the Adult Education Coordinator. She enjoys reading and going on walks in her free time.
