Varsity cross country competes at BCNG

Pierce High’s cross country team traveled to Albion on Friday, September 6, to compete in the Boone Central Invitational. The Pierce varsity boys’ team placed second among 10 teams competing. For this meet, Pierce only had one varsity girl competing, so they were not able to place as a team.
Individually, Mason Sindelar was the meet champion with a time of 16:12. Gavin Geneski came in fourth with a time of 17:11. Brock Bolling finished in 13th with a time of 17:52. Ashton Koch placed 28th with a time of 18:53. Carter Jensen came in 36th with a time of 19:26. On Jensen’s heels, Chris Efta finished 37th with a time of 19:27. Blake Bolling placed 43rd with a time of 19:41. Colt Arnold came in 48th with a time of 19:55. Miles Garcia finished in 73rd with a time of 21:11.
For the Pierce girls’ team, the lone competitor, Alexus Sindelar, was the meet champion with a time of 19:27. “Winning sets me up to have high expectations for myself. I can’t quit, and I can’t settle,” says A. Sindelar after her win, “I look forward most to seeing this team do well.”
The next varsity cross country meet will be this Friday, September 13, at Skyview Lake in Norfolk.
Boone Central Cross Country Meet Celebrates Junior High Success

On Friday, September 6th, the Pierce junior high cross country team traveled to Albion for the Boone Central Invite. For the boys, seventh grader, Anthony Leise was the only competitor from Pierce. He was 35th to the finish line, with a time of 10.44.42. The girls had four runners, all in the seventh grade. Zoey Ebmeier placed fourth and Aylla Weeder placed seventh. Their times were 9.58.18 and 10.20.56, respectively. Kaylee Olson finished twenty-first, and Tatum Koch was close behind, at twenty-second.
Their next meet will be Friday, September 13th at Skyview Lake in Norfolk.
