FCCLA Holds Family Banquet

The FCCLA held their annual family banquet Friday, April 27, at the high school.
The night consisted of a potluck meal provided by the FCCLA members and their families. There was a silent auction with baskets provided by the FCCLA members. After everyone had gotten food, keynote speaker Sarah Smith spoke about her experiences in FCCLA.
Following the keynote speaker, the awards for the night were given out. The outstanding members for this year were Alexus Sindelar as the 8th grade member, Alexis Schnoor as the 9th grade member, Sydney Erickson as the 10th grade member, Sydney Slater as the 11th grade member, and Abigail Anderson as the 12th grade member.
Next were the STAR awards. Alexus Sindelar received gold at districts and received runner-up top silver at state in Nebraska Health and Wellness Jr. Division. Alexis Schnoor received top gold at districts and state champion top gold at state in Parliamentary Procedures Jr. Division. Caitlyn Crist and Abigail Anderson received silver at districts and silver at state in Chapter Service Project Display Sr. Division.
These members also received the summer incentive award and will be traveling to the Omaha zoo sometime over the summer for earning the required points. The members were, Alexus Sindelar, Victoria Orona, Lucas Gnat, Alexis Schnoor, Sydney Erickson, and Sydney Slater. After all the awards were handed out, the new officer installation began. The new president is Sydney Erickson, vice president and District 8 rep is Alexis Schnoor, historian is Mackenzie Richmond, treasurer is Lucas Gnat, public relations and STAR chairperson is Elizabeth Harris, Power of One is Mason Sindelar, secretary is Sydney Slater, and community outreach chairperson is Alexus Sindelar.
“I think the night was a great success,” said FCCLA advisor Angie Broderson. “Students were recognized for their great accomplishments and leadership qualities.“
