JH Band Places First in Lions Club Parade

JH Band Places First in Lions Club Parade

by Madison Siedschlag

The Pierce High School’s junior high band performed at the annual Lions Club Parade in downtown Norfolk on Saturday, September 26, and placed first.

Every year, the junior high band marches in the Lion’s Club Parade in Norfolk. The junior high placed first this year out of seven total junior high  bands to compete. Their parade song this year was “Dear Old Nebraska U,” and their drum cadence was called “Storm.”

In addition to marching in the parade, Pierce’s was the only junior high band to perform at Johnson Park just before awards, and during this performance, Addison Johnson directed the band as drum major.

Director Mike Sindt said, “This year’s junior high band has a number of exceptional young people in it, and they performed and represented our community in an exceptionally excellent way during the parade and at the park on Saturday.”
