Try-outs for the upcoming year’s Pierce High School cheerleaders were held the week of Monday, March 24, through Friday, March 28, when the official try-out was held and next year’s team was determined.
The newly installed fall season cheerleaders include: Paige Spieker, Caitlyn Skuodas, Kelsi Svendsen, Tristen Sell, Olivia Steffensen, Jessica DeGroff, Alexis Behmer, Alexa Douglass, Brianna Furstenau, and Kristina Gutman.
The newly installed winter season cheerleaders include: Hannah Higgins, Kierstyn Wragge, Caitlyn Skuodas, Kelsi Svendsen, Tristen Sell, Olivia Steffensen, Jessica DeGroff, Alexis Behmer, Alexa Douglass, and Ellie Moeller.
Try-out practices began at 6:30 a.m. every morning, at which time the seniors from this year’s squad taught the try-out dance, cheer, and words to a cheer for which the person auditioning would make up her own moves. Then a panel of judges made up of several community members and four Wayne State College cheerleaders determined the cheerleaders of next year’s squads.
