Miss Teen Nebraska Speaks at Pierce High
by Emily Bjorklund
Jasmine Fuelberth, Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2013, spoke at Pierce High School on Thursday, December 12.
Jasmine told Pierce High students about her pageant and modeling career, along with other personal information about her family and time spent attending Norfolk High. Her main message to the students revolved around her “DRESS UP method” for success. Each letter represented part of her message. D- Dream Big, R- Respect yourself and others, E- Endure life’s trials, S- Surround yourself with quality people, S- Smile, U-you be you, and P-Practice and work hard.
Jasmine used examples from her own life that students could relate to in order to illustrate each point.
Overall, her positive message about achieving success was well received by the PHS students. Senior Caleb Lohrberg said, “I thought it was very interesting to have someone my own age speaking to high school students. It’s not something that you normally see.”
