Class presidents for 2009-2010 - Born, Hoffmann, Dickey and Stuchlik

Senior Class Meets by Courtney Krueger

The senior class meeting was held August 18 at eight o’clock a.m. in the room of class sponsor, Mr. Don Wood.  The topics discussed were graduation, class tee shirts, class dues, and voting for class officers.

Congratulations to the newly elected officers of the senior class: president, Kaelee Stuchlik; first vice president, Emily Polt; second vice president, Adam Geiger; secretary, Meghan Vogt; and treasurer, Chelsea Atkins.  New student council members from the senior class are Heather Wachter, Joey Koehn, and Jadie Kallhoff.

A meeting for senior graduation will be held October 22.  Jostens will be present to discuss ordering class items like announcements, class keys, caps and gowns, memory books, and tee shirts.

Junior Class Meets by Meghan Vogt

The junior class held their annual organizational meeting with sponsor Mrs. Crystal Bauermeister on Tuesday, August 18. The meeting of 56 juniors was held in the high school commons area where Mrs. Bauermeister said, “several topics were discussed.”

The first topic was voting for class officers. Class president is Tanner Dickey; vice president, Briana Adams; Brady Bretschneider is secretary, and class treasurer is Nate Hoferer.  Megan Gerteisen and Kristin Canaday head the prom committee. There were no nominees for student council, so no new juniors were added at the time of the meeting.

Next, Mrs. Bauermeister led the discussion of the annual soup supper, put on by the junior class to help raise money for Prom. Each student is required to sell tickets or pay a fine. Most other classes are responsible for paying class dues, but by selling soup supper and raffle tickets, junior dues are covered.

The junior class is also in charge of Prom, the third topic of discussion. Each junior is required to attend at least two planning meetings to be allowed to leave school to decorate on Friday before the celebration.

Vice president Adams said, “The prom theme was voted on last year, but we don’t know results of the voting yet. Decorating will probably be a lot of chaos.”

Sophomore Class Meets by Jadie Kallhoff

The sophomore class at Pierce High met on the morning of August 18 in the band room. Mrs. Emily Duerst is the new class sponsor. The sophomore class dues are ten dollars, which are due to be paid to the treasurer or Mrs. Duerst by October 1.

The class elected Eric Hoffmann president. Vice president is Katie Lockee, secretary is Haley Oestreich, and treasurer is Clayton Craft. Katie Lockee is the new sophomore student council representative.

Freshmen Elect by Eva Wiskirchen

The freshman class met for their organizational meeting on Tuesday, August 18, in the choir room at Pierce High. Class sponsor Mr. Torv Nixon conducted the meeting in which the students elected their class officers.

This year’s president is Drake Born. Vice president is Aaron Hanlin. The students have chosen Matt Lukens treasurer and Gus Ussery secretary. Student Council representative is Branigan Stonacek.

The class dues are set on $10 this year, and they go to the treasurer, Matt Lukens.

Junior High Classes Meet by Kayla Asmus

Pierce Junior High students had their class meetings on Tuesday, August 18. The students and their sponsors went over what was going to go on this year in their classes, and students chose their student council representatives.

Sponsors for junior high are Mr. Mike Emory, seventh grade, and Mr. Gary Shada, eighth.

For the seventh grade class, the student council members are Kristin Arens and Collin Freeman, and for the eighth grade class the members are Samantha Sargent, London Sindelar, and Alissa Hoffmann.

Alex Retzlaff, a seventh grader, said he “would like to be a class officer because it would be a good honor to represent” his class. Others said they would not have time to be a student council representative.
