Junior High Wrestlers Compete in Quad
by Rhayna Waldner
The junior high wrestlers competed in a quad at Osmond on Monday, November 20. The teams involved were Elkhorn Valley, Wakefield, Osmond, and the Bluejays. There were no team scores kept and no weight classes.
Individually, Colton Fritz, Jayden Coulter, Ren Gleason, and Brock Bolling all went without a single loss of the day by going 2-0. Nicholas Erickson also went undefeated going 1-0. Blake Bolling, Cameron Armitage, and Parker Sackville split matches for the day, each going 1-1, and Nikolas Harvey went 1-2. Karter Wolfe, Isaiah Adams, and Jayce Jacobs all went 0-2, and Richard Halligan went 0-3.
“Overall, everyone competed hard,” said coach Gary Shada. “As it is with every competition, you find out what you need to work on, and for us, it is our first move on the bottom from the referee's position. Too often, we react instead of act. We did a nice job of finishing matches when we were able to get our opponents to their back.”
The junior high wrestlers’ next meet will be the Boone Central invite held in Albion on Saturday, December 9.
