Internet Safety Speaker Coming to PHS

Ryan Sothan, who is the outreach coordinator for the Nebraska Attorney General, will be speaking at Pierce High School on December 13^th at 6:30 pm. He will be speaking to parents about the Internet and what they need to know to keep their child safe. His presentation is entitled “Digital Citizenship: Rules of the Road for Safely Navigating the Information Superhighway.” It covers the following five rules:

1. You are not invisible when you go online.
2. You are not the consumer but the product.
3. Any data you post online in any format is not considered private.
4. Cyberbullying can have consequences.
5. Sexting is an especially risky form of self-disclosure.
