FFA Members Attend Livestock Judging
By Susan Venteicher
On January 31, 2017, five Pierce FFA members attended district livestock judging at NECC. All of the members were in the senior division for judging. That means that they had to give three sets of oral reasons explaining why they placed the animals the way they did. There were eight classes of animals that the members judged.
There were 14 senior teams at the competition. The Pierce team placed 5th. The FFA members who competed were Quentin Anderson, Branden Haselhorst, Riley Carlson, Kendra Schulz, and Susan Venteicher. Anderson placed 8th out of 67 contestants. The team would have needed to place 4th to compete at the Nebraska FFA State Convention which will be held in April.
