Students Compete at State Speech
To cap off a successful speech season, three varsity members of Pierce High’s speech team competed at the state tournament on Wednesday, March 23, in Kearney.
Junior Aguilar and Shianna Oestreich both competed in Persuasive Speaking. Aguilar’s topic was the decline of the American Dream, and Oestreich spoke on the problems with a nation that is hypersensitive to offense. Abigail White competed in Informative Speaking, where she discussed the myth of multitasking.
While none of the speakers qualified for finals to take home a medal, each of them gave solid performances and ended their seasons on a strong note.
