Singers Prepare for Tryouts
With the new school year a go, students are excited to show off their talents. In the singing category for this year, all state is right around the corner. The students and Mrs. Constance Jessen had a their first meeting Monday evening, August 23. Jessen told the singers when and where tryouts will be and had them fill out vital information.
Mrs. Jessen started practicing with the sopranos Monday so they could get a feel for the music. Later they are moving to Norfolk for bigger group sessions, and that’s where tryouts will be, on October 9.
A lot of students are trying out. “It looks like a good number of students are interested this year as usual. Now begins the work,” reported Jessen. One of the candidates, Jacob Jones, said, “ I am hoping that I do well, and if I don’t at least nobody will know.”
