Seniors Meet by Laura Huff

Class meetings were held Friday, August 20. The senior class met in class sponsor Mr. Don Wood’s classroom to discuss a few things about senior year and graduation.

Class officers were elected during the class meeting. President is Kellon Ronspies; first vice presidents are Megan Gerteisen and Brock Schroeder; second vice president is Tad Fuchs; secretary is Briana Adams, and treasurer is Logan Sudbeck. Brady Bretschneider and Matt Koeppe are the new twelfth grade student council representatives.

Many topics were discussed with the seniors on Friday. Mrs. Anne Muhs came in to talk to the seniors about senior profiles for the paper and where the seniors want to take their senior picture for the yearbook. Mr. Wood discussed graduation costs, senior shirts and the mandatory class meeting in October.

Juniors Organize  by Zachery W. Halsey

The junior class meeting went straight to business. As the juniors filed into the band room Mrs. Crystal Bauermeister opened the meeting with officer elections.  Bauermeister announced the slate of candidates from volunteers, and classmates voted for their officers. The president this year is Marcus Blunck; vice president is Connor Reed; secretary is Amy Venteicher, and Amy Fleer is treasurer.  In addition to serving as president, Marcus Blunck also was elected the class’s new student council representative. The Prom committee chairpersons this year are Payton Wragge and Ashton Johnson.

The juniors also talked about this year’s soup supper meeting.  This mandatory meeting will be October 15.

Prom was a bigger topic in this meeting.  Each junior has to go to at least two prom meetings this year.  Prom will be at the White House in April.  Mrs. Bauermeister said, “I think we have a very enthusiastic group, and as long as they raise enough money at the soup supper, Prom will be awesome.”

Sophomores Elect by Matt Lukens

Pierce High School had its first class meetings of the year.  The sophomore class started their meeting by having students volunteer for officer positions.  Kevin Andersen was elected the class president.  Eddie Francios was elected vice president.  Lexy Nuesch was chosen class secretary, and Christian Beery is the treasurer.

The meeting also covered the class dues for the 2010-11 school year.  The dues for sophomores will be 10 dollars and must be paid by Friday, August 28.

The students finished the meeting by picking students to represent the sophomores in Student Council.  The newly added members are Katie Atkins, Claudia Flesner, and Robyn Werner.

Kira Arnold said, “The meeting was very productive and was well arranged.”

Freshmen Organize by Sierra Ronspies

The freshman class held their organizational meeting on August 20 with new class sponsor Mrs. Kristine Muir. Students chose their class officers at this meeting. The new president is Nicole Sullivan; Tyler Hoffman is vice-president; Kristen Albrecht, secretary; and Nate Murray, treasurer. Class dues of $10 must be paid to Mrs. Muir by September 30. At the meeting, the ninth-graders also voted for their new freshman student council representative, Myles Sudbeck.
