Places to Run in Pierce

Pierce may not be too big, but there’s a variety of places one can choose to go for a run.
Mark Brahmer, a long-time resident of Pierce, is known to go on daily runs bright and early in the morning. Brahmer says his top three favorite routes to run around town are, “The lake route, from my house around the lake is about 9 ¼ (miles). I’ve run that, I would assume, about 80-90 times in the last half-dozen years, and then the ‘around the town’ route, which is down to Matt Herian’s corner, by the pond, back into town past the old Willow Creek 4-Seasons Mini Mart, then weave your way past Mr. Legate’s house, Colby Anderson’s house, past the auditorium, backside of Casey’s, all the way to the east side of town, then you go north to Main Street back into town, and then you’re going to turn at J’s Place and go north on Old 98 past the swimming pool until you get to the north side of town, then you come past the fairgrounds and weave your way back up to the school. That’s 4.18 (miles) exactly, so that’s another route. And then I use 549 Avenue, which is this north-south street to the west of the school. I do that in the winter, because that gets thawed out the earliest because the sun that’s in the southern hemisphere can hit that, and it melts that quicker than any of the streets in town where there’s shade because of all the buildings and trees.”
Zach Weber is another resident of Pierce that is known to go on runs around Pierce. Weber states his favorite route around Pierce, “Starts right in my driveway, goes directly up the big hill towards the school, out past Mr. Brahmer’s house and back around my house. From driveway to driveway to driveway it’s two miles. It has just the right amount of hills in it.”
Pierce has plenty of running options.
