Pierce High Lit Up the Homecoming Week

By Ella Gaes

Pierce High never fails to blow away everyone's expectations for homecoming week. This year’s theme was “Let’s Glow Bluejays!” Everyday this past week, Pierce High had the opportunity to let their imaginations “glow” and light up the dress up days.

Starting on Monday, the theme was tie dye. On Tuesday, the flow of the hallways slowed down with all of the use of crutches and crippled people following the theme of fake an injury day. For Wednesday, every class wore their assigned neon color. Seniors wore bright pink, juniors had the color bright blue, sophomores wore neon yellow, freshmen had to wear neon orange, junior high wore neon purple, and the faculty and staff wore neon green. Thursday brought an arrangement of baggy shorts and white socks, the Adam Sandler theme didn’t fail.

“In one hallway, I would walk past the waterboy [movie character] and the next would be the dad from Grown Ups,” says senior Kaila Spieker.

Finally, on Friday everyone showed their Bluejay pride and dressed with their best school spirit.

After talking to Mrs. Melissa Legate she says, “I really liked how easy it was to dress up for the days. It made it very easy for everyone to participate and show their school spirit.”

All the Pierce High students sure had a busy week participating during Homecoming week.
