Pierce High Announces the Homecoming Candidates of 2023

Pierce High School announced their homecoming candidates for 2022, and they include girl candidates Ella Gaes, Morgan Moeller, Kaila Spieker, and Brielle Unseld, and boy candidates Benjamin Brahmer, Jayden Coulter, Bode Hoffmann, Dalton Svoboda. 

Ella Gaes is the daughter of Shane and Staci Gaes. She has been a member of girls letter club, FCA, student council, and journalism for four years, National Honor Society, FFA, and volleyball for three years, basketball for two years, track for two years, speech for two years, and FCCLA for one year. Ella is currently the president of girls letter club. She is the reporter for both FFA and student council. In FCCLA her freshman year she was the District 8 representative. She has received principal's honor roll two years, honor roll two years, academic letter one year, and has been student of the month for school and FFA. Ella is a confirmed member of Christ Lutheran Church. 

Benjamin Brahmer son of Mark and Carmen Brahmer. He has been a member of boys letter club, FCA, student council, football, basketball, and track for four years, and National Honor Society for three years. In student council he served as vice president. He has received an academic letter four years and principal's honor roll four years. His sophomore year he earned Academic All-State in basketball and track. In football he has been on the all-district first team his sophomore and junior years, first team C-1 All-State sophomore and junior year, and first team All-Nebraska his junior year. In basketball he was first team All-Conference his sophomore and junior years, as well as honorable mention All-State his sophomore and junior year. He was a state track qualifier his sophomore and junior years, where he finished fifth in 110-high hurdles, eighth in the 300-hurdles, and he was a member of the seventh place mile relay team. Ben is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. 

Morgan Moeller is the daughter of Lacey and Casey Moeller. She has been a member of girls letter club, student council, volleyball, basketball, and track for four years, National Honor Society for three years, journalism for two years, and FCCLA for one year. She has received academic letter for three years, peer tutor one year, principal’s honor roll four years, and academic team two years. Morgan received All-State honorable mention in volleyball in class C1 from the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald, All-Conference first team her junior year and All-Conference honorable mention her freshman year. In class C1 basketball, she earned All-State honorable mention in both the Lincoln Journal Star and Omaha World Herald

All-Conference honorable mention her freshman and sophomore years, and All-Conference first team her junior year, and elite eight honorable mention. She has helped with Hands for Christ for one year. Morgan is a member of the y-disciple youth group at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. 

Jayden Coulter is the son of Chris and Mandy Coulter. He has been a member of boys letter club, football, and wrestling for four years, and track for two years. He has received honor roll for two years. In wrestling Jayden was All-Conference for two years, during his freshman year he was All-State honorable mention, while his sophomore and junior seasons he was on the All-State team. He qualified for state wrestling his freshman year at 120-pounds, his sophomore year at 138-pounds, and his junior year at 145-pounds, where he also placed sixth. Jayden is a member of Zion Lutheran Church. 

Kaila Spieker is the daughter of Kim and Cary Spieker. She has been a member of the girls letter club, speech, and cheerleading for four years, National Honor Society, journalism and quiz bowl for three years, FCCLA for two years, and all school play for one year. Kaila is the current girls letter club president and secretary of the senior class. She has received academic letter for three years and principal's honor roll for four years. Kaila earned All-American cheerleader two years, and Academic All-State in journalism one year. She has been a cheer captain for the past two years. She has also been involved in church community service, Hands for Christ, and 4-H community service throughout high school as well as cleaning the fairgrounds before the fair every year, and volunteered at Pierce’s 150-year celebration. In her 4-H club, the Hadar Handy Helpers, she has been secretary, vice president, and president throughout high school. Kaila is a member of the youth group at St. Joseph’s church for four years. 

Bode Hoffman is the son of Brad Hoffman and Suzie Brandt. He has been a member of boys letter club, football, and track for four years, speech for two years, basketball for one year, and robotics for one year, and state speech qualifier one year. Bode is the current boys letter club president. He has been on principal's honor roll for four years, academic letter for four years, and academic team one year. He attends First Christian Church in Norfolk and St. Joseph’s in Pierce where he is involved in the y-disciple youth group. 

Brielle Unseld is the daughter of Dan and Amy Unseld. She has been a member of girls letter club, FFA, volleyball, and speech for four years, National Honor Society for three years, all school play for one year, and track for one year. Brielle is the National Honor Society president, as well as FFA vice president and senior class treasurer. Her junior year she was the FFA vice president and her sophomore year she was the FFA reporter. She has received principal’s honor roll four years, academic team one year, all conference volleyball team two years, peer tutor one year. In volleyball, she has received all state honorable mention for three years from the Lincoln Journal Star and during her junior year was honorable mention in the Omaha World Herald.

Brielle received Academic All-State in speech her junior year. Brielle helped with Hands for Christ for two years. She attends St. Joseph’s Church where she is a member of the youth group.

Dalton Svoboda is the son of Mary and Galen Svoboda. He has been a member of boys letter club, golf, speech, robotics, Legion baseball, and all school play for four years, National Honor Society for three years, quiz bowl for two years, student council, and FCCLA for one year. He has been a football filmer throughout high school. Dalton is the senior class president, and he is the vice president of National Honor Society and  boys letter club. During his junior year he was junior class vice president. He has received the principal's honor roll for four years. He was on the academic team for two years. He has received academic letter for three years. Svoboda is a member of St. Joseph's Church and the y-disciple youth group.

Homecoming royalty will be named following the football game against O’Neill on Friday, September 30.
