Farewell to Pierce High’s Seniors

by Emma Risinger

On May 14, at 2 p.m. Pierce High School held graduation in the gymnasium.

The ceremony included performances by the band and choir, as well as speeches by a few seniors and faculty.

There will be the usual goodbyes to the seniors, but also, Pierce will be saying goodbye to a few teachers including Mr. Rick Adams, Mr. Gregory Warneke, Mr. Thomas Edmisten, and Mr. Timothy Waldner. The day is sure to be sentimental, and Edmisten, who is also sponsor to the senior class, had something to say about his, and the seniors’ final year at Pierce High. He said, “I guess all Pierce High graduating classes are alike. I have thought about this one being my last though. Because they are my last, they are memorable.”

In addition to Edmisten, seniors also had some things to say about graduation. In particular, Megan Druyor said, “It’s actually really scary because I don’t know what the future holds for me. I for sure will miss all of the friends I have made throughout high school but I am going to make more friends at college. For many years I have planned to go to college to become an art teacher.”

So it seems everyone is looking onward to new horizons and opportunities. While the seniors will surely be missed, the class of 2022 hopefully are all destined for great things.
