Happy Mother’s Day from Pierce High School
by Raegan Theisen
On Sunday, May 8, we celebrated Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is celebrated in more than 50 countries all over the world, and it originates back to ancient Greeks and Romans.
Mother’s Day is all about celebrating mothers and everything that they do. There are more calls made on this day than any other in the year. Also, Mother’s Day is the third highest selling holiday for flowers. In addition, Mother’s Day is the busiest day of the year for most restaurants.
When asked about Mother’s Day, Lisa Polt states, “This is a day to honor your mothers. I am especially excited because my husband gets to cook!”
Karter Wolfe states, “On Mother’s Day I am going to clean up around the house for my mom. My family is also going to the Henry Doorly Zoo because that is one of my mom’s favorite places to go.”
