Lady Jays Dribble Their Way Into Basketball
by Addison Sporleder
Once again, it’s that time of year for basketball season! The girls started off the season with their first practice on Monday, November 15, after school.
Last season, the team finished with a winning record of 13-12. The girls basketball team has a total of 17 girls this year, with four returning letterwinners: Gina Wragge, Alexus Sindelar, Payten Simmons and Morgan Moeller.
Wragge, a senior, says, “We have more girls out this year, and I believe we have all the pieces to make this season one to remember. I'm excited to put our hard work to the test and see how we compare to other teams.”
“I’m excited for this season,” states lone junior Moeller. “We have multiple girls coming back from last year and we also have some new girls that will help us out alot. I feel like we will accomplish a lot this season, and with having a good group of seniors and me we will have good leaders as well.”
The varsity girls will be competing in their first game on Thursday, December 2, at Howells-Dodge. Good luck to the Lady Jays as they start their season!
