Pierce Dominates Lakeview

On Tuesday, January 12, the Pierce Bluejays put up a tough fight against the Columbus Lakeview Vikings, and Pierce took home the win 46-33.
Starting off the first quarter strong, the Bluejays scored 14 points, limiting the Vikings to 10.
Into the second quarter with Pierce in the lead, Bluejays put up another eight points, while Vikings only scored four. Ending the first half, the Pierce Bluejays had a lead of 22-14 against the Lakeview Vikings.
Coming back out of the halftime, the Bluejays were able to keep their winning lead. Adding 14 points to the scoreboard were the Bluejays, with Vikings only having eight. The end of third Pierce kept the lead, ending with the score of 36-24.
In the fourth quarter the Bluejays faced a tough time putting up points, scoring 10, while the Vikings were able to push forth and score 11 in the fourth quarter. The Bluejays were still able to bring home a win, defeating the Lakeview Vikings 46-33.
Bringing in the most points of the night for the Bluejays, was Dawson Watts with 19 points. Not far behind Watts, Benjamin Brahmer scored 13 points, Logan Moeller added six, David Dale made four, Chaden Roth contributed three, and Luke Collison added one.
Tim Waldner, assistant coach, comments, “Defensively and fundamentally we were pretty sound most of the game.”
The Bluejays ended the night with 27 rebounds in total, 10 being on offense, and 17 being during defense. The Bluejays also picked up 10 steals.
The next game for the Bluejays will be in a doubleheader against Battle Creek on Saturday, January 23 at Pierce.
