The Bluejays Take Home Another Win

On Thursday, January 7, the Pierce Bluejays boys basketball team played with determination to win against the Aquinas Monarchs; the Bluejays fought hard and ended the game with the final score being 48-32.

In the first quarter of the game, the Bluejays scored a total of 13 points, while the Monarchs scored 12 points. By the end of the second quarter, Bluejays put up another 15 points, with Aquinas only being limited to scoring six. The first half ended with the Bluejays dominating with a score of 28-18.

After half, the boys scored 10 points by the end of third, with Aquinas scoring eight. The end of third with Bluejays in the lead, was 38-26. By the time the fourth quarter had ended, Pierce was able to put and receive 10 more points, while Aquinas put up six. The game finished with the Bluejays taking the win, with the final score being 48-32.

The boys offensively caused trouble for Aquinas’ defense. Logan Moeller added a total of 16 points to the board, with Dawson Watts right behind with 15 points, Benjamin Brahmer with 11, and Chaden Roth and Abram Scholting each scoring three points for the Bluejays.

Head Coach Mike Emory says, “I thought we played well defensively for three and a half quarters.” 

The night ended with Bluejays having an overall of 21 rebounds, seven being from offensive and 14 being defensive. Throughout the night, the Bluejays stole the night with a total of eight steals and ended with a strong defensive game.

The next game for the Bluejays will be at Hartington Cedar Catholic on Friday, January 15.
