Pierce High Choir Will Host Fall Concert
by Taylor Compton
On Thursday, October 29, the junior and senior high choir will be hosting their annual fall concert. People who attend are to maintain a safe social distance from each other and are also highly encouraged to wear a mask, but masks are not required.
Junior choir member Alle Koehler comments, “I think we are pretty prepared for this concert. We have been running and working on the songs a lot.”
Choir teacher, Caleb Nihira, says, “The choirs have been working diligently to prepare for their upcoming concert this week. Due to the pandemic, choirs all around the world have had to make major adjustments to the way they rehearse and perform, and Pierce is no different. We are wearing masks and maintaining a physical distance of at least six feet. In my 12 years of teaching, and almost a lifetime of performing, I have never had to implement such practices into my singing. It has been a learning experience for me and the concert will be unique among my performances. Because of the state of the world and the country, I have decided to have a concert with a theme of joy and happiness. Each song will express these topics in their own way. Overall, this will be a light-hearted evening of music. We hope you are able to join us!”
The concert begins at 7 p.m. at the high school gymnasium.
