by Taylor Compton
New elementary teacher, Grant King, joins Pierce Elementary as the new sixth grade teacher.
King is originally from Stanton and attended Wayne State College. He completed his student teaching at Pierce last spring in both third and fifth grades and also coached wrestling last year.
So far he has enjoyed Pierce a lot. King explains how he feels the rest of the year is going to go by saying, “I believe the rest of the year is going to be full of new experiences for everyone. This year hasn’t been what we had all hoped it would be, but I am optimistic that it will be better than what it has been.”
King has many different hobbies including golfing, coaching, and spending time with family.
One thing he likes about Pierce so far is that there are so many great people in Pierce. He states, “From the students to the parents, you don’t find many towns like this.”
