by Hannah Whitmore

The volleyball season came to an end on Monday, October 28. The Lady Jays played the Wayne Blue Devils. The Blue Devils took the win with three sets. The first set was 3-25. The second set was 16-25. In the last set the Lady Jays tried fighting their way back but lost 22-25.

The Lady Jays had a total of 18 kills. Zoe Brenden had seven kills total and Faith Lubischer following her with four kills. The team had a total of four ace serves, three served by Kenzie Moeller and one by Brenden.

When asked what she thought the team could improve on Faith Lubischer said, “Having confidence in our abilities and the team.” Lubisher also said, “the team could of focused better on when its game time and finishing strong.”

Brittany Weber, the head coach, said, ”I thought we were very afraid to make mistakes in the first set. We know how good Wayne is, and we knew that we had to be extremely aggressive offensively, but we came out flat and didn’t execute.” Weber also said, ”I’m happy with how we bounced back, especially in the third set. We proved that with confidence in ourselves and execution of our game plan we could hang with good teams. I look forward to building on that next season.”
