The junior class participated in the ASVAB testing on Tuesday, October 15. Some juniors also chose to take the PSAT test on Wednesday, October 16. Both of these tests were taken place in the multipurpose room at the high school.
The ASVAB test stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. It serves as a military entrance exam. The ASVAB also provides information about student attitude within certain careers, so it provides feedback about possible career options. Junior Colt Arnold explained, “Overall it was a nice simple test to see how my skills are in and outside of school.”
PSAT stands for Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test. There were 13 juniors that took this test on Wednesday. PSAT is practice for the ACT, and it opens up scholarship opportunities. Reading, Language Arts, and Math with and without a calculator are the sections of the test. Counselor Danielle Goetsch commented, “Overall the students were engaged, they took it seriously. I was satisfied with the section and the day.”
