Elementary Teamwork Tuesday

by Megan Druyor

Pierce Elementary held Teamwork Tuesday on October 1. Teamwork Tuesday is where Grades K-2 are paired up with 3-6 grades. The students are working on building teamwork skills, and have fun activities to do together.

Sixth grade teacher Emily Franzluebbers says, “Teamwork Tuesday builds a bond for the younger and older students. It also shows the older students as role models to the younger students. It also helps the students build a somewhat kind of a family. The students really like working with the older grades, and I like how the students enjoy working together.”

Principal Trent Suehl says, “Teamwork Tuesday teaches the students how to be a part of a team that works together to accomplish different tasks.  It also gives the students the chance to have fun and work with students that they normally do not get to work with.  It gives our older students the chance to be leaders in working with and guiding the younger students in different activities. The younger students have an opportunity to work with and learn from the older students. Overall, it is a great learning experience for all of the students.”

Teamwork Tuesday happens every first Tuesday of a new month, and the next teamwork Tuesday is November 5.
